This week is going to be a 'Maths Week'. Pupils will be using a variety of skills to complete different tasks linked to the national literacy and numeracy framework, including:
Weighing
Multiplying by 2,3,5, 6 and 10
multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100
Interpreting and representing data using different forms of tables, charts and graphs.
I will also be introducing 'Literacy and Language' to the children. This will be our main scheme for Language. The scheme allows pupils to work on a range of language skills including reading and writing but will also enhance their oracy through aspects drama and they will develop debating skills based on both fiction and non-fiction text.
Monday
New spellings on the blog tonight for Friday's test
Maths task to be sent home (this should be returned by Monday 19th of January to receive 5 house points)
Tuesday
Mrs Garrett to lead the class in the morning, I will teach in the afternoon.
Wednesday
Swimming kit. Please can you ensure that all earrings are removed before coming to school, if your child is unable to remove them themselves.
Friday
Spelling test on this weeks key words
Big Maths Beat That test
**Please can I remind you that all pupils need a coat in school every day. The children will be out at break times if it's fine rain.
