My english class 17.01.12

This week, everyone in my English class, will be beginning their extended writing task. In tomorrow's (Wednesday) lesson the Year 5 will be gathering ideas/words/phrases to help them write a descriptive prologue to a pirate story whilst the Year 4s will be identifying the features of fact-files.     

            Each pupil will need to do some preparation at home ready for Thursday’s lesson.

Both Year groups will be asked to use a writing skeleton to present their work. Your child will know how to use one if you are not sure.

YEAR 5
In a few sentences/words
Describe the planet Earth
Describe the Ocean

What is it like/ doing? Use similes and alliteration. Look for descriptions on the internet and books if you have any that might help you.

YEAR 4

You are going to create a fact file based upon the animal that was discussed with Mrs Harries. Collect information based upon your headings that you wrote in class today.
