Caerau Spelling Words for 13.01.2015

Our spelling pattern focus for the week:

The c sound spelt -que and the g sound spelt -gue

Lots of French words have the c sound spelt -que. If we added it to our sound box, it would look like this:

There are also some words ending in -gue that have the sound g sound that we will look at.

Beware!
Tongue’ is a hard word to spell. It rhymes with lung but the letter o in the word ‘tongue’ makes the u sound. Don't let these words catch you out remember the repeating pattern at the end ;)
